Migraine pain relief with CBD
Hello, has anyone had success with CBD (no THC) for migraine pain relief? I have relentless migraines, in many ways/shapes/forms every day. Because of heart disease I can not take the triptans, which I believe, are the first line of defense for pain and effective. I can only take the CGRPs which are ineffective for me...& can not take NSAIDs either (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) for the same reason as it is reported such medications in someone like me can cause a heart attack.
There are so many CBDs on the market it's overwhelming. Which ones are best?

@caitlin9489 So beyond awful, severe chronic migraines!
I will state the obvious - have you seen a headache/neurologist specialist?
Not just a neurologist must be a headache specialist also.
Don't know if you are interested in "prescription" medications for migraine relief...not saying such will work for you but possibly could. There are options for migraine relief.
Mine were triggered by a head concussion in 2019. I never had migraines before but did have about 3 episodes of "ophthalmic" migraines, first time it happened thought it was a stroke. No pain but peripheral vision was all wavy lines. Lasted about 15 minutes. But the concussion kicked off the head migraines...I had one every day for 9 months. And here I am 7 years later and continue to suffer from them. I had trauma to the brain and it is simply not going away...also chronic, severe migraines can change the chemistry and neurons of the brain. I have increasing white matter (hyperintensities) in the brain, areas of no blood supply. With your schizophrenia, which is a brain malfunction, everything is most likely connected.
I feel your migraine pain.
Hope somehow, someway you can find a degree of relief!
I was in the same boat as you several years ago with migraines. My PCP referred me to a neurologist specializing in migraines. After months of testing & eliminating certain foods that didn’t help, he thought Botox injections would work & it did! I had at least 15 or more injections in my scalp & neck at one appointment. Since then I’ve rarely had a migraine & they’re not nearly as debilitating! That was my first & last treatment! I’d definitely recommend you look into seeing a specialist for Botox treatment.
Wow, so good to hear the Botox injections worked for you!
I never had them. I am actually afraid of them...the right side of my head is still sore after my concussion and it has been years. I believe I have scar tissue directly beneath my scalp where I hit my head in the fall.
So I could never have injections there...and severe arthritis in my neck so wondering if that would be painful.
Be well!

I have been considering Botox, but have heard that many people have experienced muscle weakness in their neck so they can’t hold their head up. Did you experience any side effects?
@beachlife67 No, I had no side effects except feeling a little dizzy walking the first 15-30 minutes. No weakness at all.
