@linda86 YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!! I suffer from that side effect as well. It is not menopause. It is not hormonal. It is a side effect of high-dose opioids. It drives me crazy too! Everyone is fine and I am burning up on fire sweating to death like it’s 110° inside. It is by far the worst side effect of the medication’s. I’m sorry you are suffering that and thankful to know. I’m not crazy either! I just wish I had a better answer for a resolution!

@gypsyblue. Thank you thank you! I thought I might be the only one. I have been afraid to talk much about the pain meds causing it because for fear I would be taken off OxyContin and I would be back in pain like I experience for 20 years and it’s hell.

As a long term pain med user, my best advice is to eat 2 or 3 prunes per day, keeps me regular!

I drink honey in warm water in the evening.
Works for me. No more laxatives.

Interesting! I've never heard of that one.

This is just an FYI for the group. Tramadol gives me fairly bad constipation. I take Amazon's version of Miralax called Clearlax. Two days after my last BM, I take an 8 oz glass of Clearlax in the morning and a glass at night. By day four, there are slight murmurings down below. That's about all I ever get. I know it's time insert a glycerin suppository. Usually within 30 minutes I can go in an take my seat on the throne. Stool is slightly soft and plentiful. Not saying this will work for everyone, but it works for me. I like that I am not putting any chemicals in my body. The Clearlax contains a mix of fibers. The glycerin is just a lube and seems to help signal the bowel to get going. You may have to start the Clearlax earlier than day two. I hope this helps at least some of you.

Have you tried a prescription med. LINZESS for constipation?
Talk to your gastroenterologist about LINZESS capsule.

It’s easy on my stomach and I supplement that with Prunes and Mandarin oranges 🍊
I have to take it bc of daily Morphine which causes constipation.
Good luck

Hello, I am happy to find this group. In 2024 I did an ankle replacement and got rid of my worst chronic pain. Now dealing with lower back pain and hip bursitis (Trochanteric) on the right side. March 6th I got up from a seated position and something in the hip popped and I have had bad pain ever since. I can't sit for more than 10-15 minutes without getting up and stretching. I have exercises I do twice a day and ice seems to help. Swimming helps (kicking with a paddle board or backstroke helps a lot). My favorite stroke (breast stroke is way too painful). I am wondering if anyone in this group has found a seat cushion that helps hip bursitis? If so, please share what works for you.
