@babieray I have had tinnitus for several years only in the left ear …4 years ago I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension /lung volume issues . Year before last the Tinnitus became Pulsatile Tinnitus in the left ear. . I actually recorded it on my cell phone so that the Cardio Dr could hear it. A couple of months ago I was sitting Having lunch in my apt. All of a sudden the Tinnitus felt like it moved over to the right ear for a few minutes , then it all went quiet , then the right ear went quiet, and the Pulsatile part stopped in the left ear yet the Tinnitus part stayed . So as I write to you today just the Tinnitus is still in the left ear .
If I put my finger in my left ear I can fell my pulse however not in my right ear. it was really weird the way it happened and the Doctors have no explanation . I am happy that I no longer hear the swooshing . So I know how you feel . I’ve done a lot of research and spoke with several Doctors and one of my Doctors suggested that a nerve under the left ear could be infected / inflamed .
I should say that the Cardio Dr did have a brain scan done because as he said there is a known benign tumor that can be around the middle ear that could cause the Pulsatile part .however I was clear on that .
I hope what I have shared has been somewhat helpful to you . And I especially hope and pray that your Pulsatile part will stop one of these days soon. 🙏

@kaybast Thank you so very much for your information. My pulsatile T. seems to becoming more frequent as I age. It is in my right ear only and I often try to see if it is the pulsations of my heart by holding the artery in my neck, sometimes the ponding coincides and sometimes it doesn't. Wish there was much more research on this problem as it is really nerve-wracking. It is even my wake up sound now and then. Again, thank you for you article and info, really appreciate.

@kaybast thanks so much. Interesting , I see pulmonary however no issues. It’s something that there is no cure or why. I hope you feel better soon . 🙏🏾

I have pulsatile tinnitus in my Right ear only. 25 years ago I had radiation and surgery to the right side of my head and face. I guess I have the idea that it's connected to that trauma. Radiation keeps on doing damage. At least I can say I'd rather be fortunate to survive that this long! But there's some concern that it might be stenosis of an intracranial artery, or some kind of damage like that.
I'm supposed to have a MRA upcoming and my carotid ultrasound was normal. I'm interested to find this discussion because I'm wondering if I should pursue more tests or just let it be. Because it looks like all of the tests can be clear yet the problem remains.
