@positivethinking Thank you.
In my mind it would appear it would be best to have both tests at the same time for a full picture with sputum results for any possible decisions that have to be made at that time due to all needing to consider with ones condition and symptoms at that time.
I am going to have a discussion with the doctor about my thoughts to understand his thinking.

@blm1007blm1007 That's a good idea Barbara. In my clinic, CT scans are done in a different facility, so the scans are never the same day as my PFT or doctor visit. My doc orders them well in advance since they are a "routine test", which of course get lower priority in scheduling than emergency or urgent tests. Her clinic business manager explained that under their contract with the hospital, less is charged when it is handled this way - I'm all for saving some $$$, for me or the insurance company, by going along with their plan.
