I have the gastroparesis And its wreaking havoc on my entire digestive system and no drs have any real answers! Ive had to become my own dr. Ive learned that the slowed up digestion can create yeast build up along with bacteria which causes a lot of the pain and bloat. I can get relief from using fluconazole and nystatin however then they bind you up more plus fluconazole stays in the kidneys and blood stream and liver where as nystatin only stays in the stomach. Its a never ending roller coaster and you have to keep researching online to see if others found something helpful. Sadly there are no clear cut answers and now a days good luck seeing an actual DR every one pushed you to a nurse practioner who only knows how to write rxs and order tests.
@cara354 This is all new to me. I was just diagnosed a couple months ago. It took forever to find out what the issue was. The problem that I have is my two diagnoses are working against each other. The answer they have given me for the Colonic Inertia is to have my entire colon removed. Now, that will do nothing to help the gastroparesis. So, as you well know, I will always feel nauseous and not be able to eat normally again. It's a horrible thing to have because they just tell you that there is no known cure.
Do your research!!! Do not get anything removed!!! I learned more answer from AI which I actually detest but I have to tell you it explained every thing to me in detail...And I am functioning much better. I still believe a big part of GP can be tamed down by total removal of as much SUGARS as possible. I don't get nauseous often. I get horrendous pain, bloat and constipation. I have IBS but the constipation kind. Also have barretts disease. Controlled no dysplasia. I have no gall bladder which contributes to almost impossible to digest a lot of things. Learn about the foods you eat right down the vitamins or supplements you take. I found many I were taking had dyes. I was taking Quonol CoQ 10 until my pharmacist said there is actually red n blue dye in it and they added medium chain trgylcerides to their formula. Not good if you have calcium blockages MCT should be avoided. I have a novel of information I have gathered and had to help myself Ive been to 4 gastos who just want to plow me full of Pills NPO those days are over. I believe we can Not necessarily cure but definitely heal ourselves to a comfortable level by elimination. trial and error....Green beans and Asparagus are a definite NO NO they contain NAtural Raffinose which the human body really isnt equipped to digest most humans can but those of us with compromised systems CANNOT.
