Hello, my name is Cara and I have chronic pain stemming from over 10 years of multiple back fusions and more recently from multiple herniated and bone spurs in/on cervical discs. Im hoping by joining this group I can hear from folks going through some of the acute pain issues I contend with daily and learn how they deal with them.

I have had chronic rls pain since a recocele prolapse repair op 3 years ago also on iron for low ferritin and have not slept through the night ever since. I have been on so many meds I am now of 300mg x3 making it 900 at night. I think they have damaged my prudenal nerve and this is giving me RLS. Im at my wits end if I take 900mg at night I am sedated all the next day. Now so depressed dreading going to bed so now also on 50mg Trazodone. Still in pain with weird dreams and rls. Whats the answer?

I only wish I had an answer for you. I suffered from pelvic pain due to pelvic surgery. I had eight years ago. I understand completely what you’re going through

@kayraymat I have had the same problem... constipation due to tramadol. I have come to solution: take doses of Clearlax(Amazon version of Miralax). One in the morning and one at night. By the third or fourth day, depending on how I feel, use a glycerin suppository. I always have a BM, usually within 30 minutes. As I stated, this works well for me. Might just help you, too. I wish you well.

Mary - Pinched nerve in thoractic spine. Pinch caused by fluid filled cyst causing terrible pain all the time. Cannot have surgery due to my age. Take Gabapentin morning and night with asprin during the day. Do not want to take more Gabapentin as it affects my mind and body. Does anyone else have this problem?

@kathrihe and Mary, I too have spinal cyst. This is new on my MRI. I also have developed hemangiomas at T1-T2. I’ve tried all the nerve meds with no relief. My physician is excellent and goes above and beyond seeking treatments to find me relief. After several years of suffering, the only relief I have gotten is with long acting pain medication, Xtampza as well as fast acting Percocet for breakthrough pain. I know there is so much controversy around opioids, but, when you suffer every single day of your life, you get to a point where you want to try anything to find some pain relief and quality of life. I’m thankful that something gives me some relief. I don’t think I will ever be pain free but some quality of life is better than the alternative.

@gypsyblue So sorry you have this problem! It hurts so bad. Have Dr. appt in July. Thanks for letting me know about your medications as I will ask my doctor about them. I am taking 300mg Gabapentin twice a day. Dr. said take 2 capsules3 times a day. I am not doing that as it makes me foggy and affects my memory. I take lots of Tylenol in between the Gabapentin. I guess removing the cyst is not an option for you as it is for me. I also lie down on back on the floor which gives some relief. Yes. opioids are ok if that is the only thing that helps with the pain.
Thanks for reaching out to me. Stay in touch.

Hello, I’m not sure how to begin being a member of a support team. I have lived 30 years with severe lower back pain,, I had failed back surgery and every procedure in the medical books, Nithing helped. I also have knee arthritis which is causing me to be homebound and I have overall body pain which Drs say is fibromyalgia. I really need support. I have no life, I’m so tired of all this pain.. hard to take shower, get dressed, wash dishes etc. Feels like a nightmare, I wish I cd wake up from. I have more to share. First want to learn how I begin

Please guide me.
