Oh no, no "connection" should be ever made, god forbid - that would be bordering malpractice *shudder 😖 Cut is very short and done in a sideways angle precisely for that reason ... to prevent that happening. Only rarely it is done mid-line and NEVER even close reaching anal opening. There are just few stitches placed after that and they are made of dissolvable material , they just dissolve after several days - I have no idea where you got that information đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«. Were you present at your daughter's birth ?

There is an actual Fistula Foundation devoted to helping mostly African women who have either been mutilated by well meaning OB’s - or thru natural circumstances.
These poor women suffer with chronic bladder infection from fecal contamination and believe it or not, are shunned or driven from their villages due to their abnormality.
It shouldn’t happen (and usually doesn’t in modern societies) but sadly it’s still prevalent in much of the undeveloped world. https://fistulafoundation.org/
