Adding digestive enzyme supplements: What's your experience?

@gamaryanne i started out taking ZenPep - 1 20,000 pill with meals, 1 10,000 with snacks,but then was not gaining any weight back or absorbing nutrients so my doc had me order Vital Nutrients, off Amazon to take along with ZenPep. I was really glad as you said, the prescription enzymes are expensive, and I was afraid they were going to tell me to double up on them - yikes. So I don’t know how the Vital Nutrients would do just taken alone, but they help me when added to ZenPep.

I had my Whipple in 2024 and for over a year I was not gaining weight, had lots of gas, frequent BM specially after eating, and loss of hair due to poor nutrition. I started taking Creon Qty. (1) 12,000 units with my breakfast and Qty. (2) 12,000 with my dinner and have made a world of difference! I have gained about seven pounds, my BMs are normal, and hair and energy levels have significantly improved. I have never been much of a pill taker, but highly recommend you look into it. I get mine through AbbVie that hugely helps with the cost of the Creon. I also want to mention, that I try to stay away from high fat foods and stay active daily walking or going to the gym which also helps the digestive system. I will be 70 in December.
