How do you manage both Raynaud’s syndrome and idiopathic neuropathy?
Hello everyone - I’m new here and recently diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy. I’m also dealing with Raynaud’s syndrome, which seems to complicate things.
My feet can feel very cold but also have burning sensations, so I’m trying to figure out how to balance keeping warm for Raynaud’s without making the neuropathy symptoms worse.
Has anyone dealt with both Raynaud’s and neuropathy? What has helped you manage the combination?
My autoimmune/Raynaud’s workup has been negative so far, and diabetes/common causes do not seem to explain the neuropathy. For those with “idiopathic” neuropathy, what tests helped clarify things - EMG/NCS, small-fiber testing, skin biopsy, autonomic testing, or anything else?
I would appreciate any advice on what worked for you in managing this and what questions to ask my neurologist.

@neuropath66 welcome, I have the same issues.
My feet can turn red, white and blue. They feel cold inside, but if you touch them they are warm.
Right now it’s about 78° in my house, and I have my feet up. They feel cold, but they are not. I also have the sensation that I have socks on when I don’t.
I bought thick socks for when it gets painful.
My fingers first gave me horrible pain when I went to use a cold can out of the fridge. Ice cream cartons are very painful to hold.
I’ve purchased special gloves to keep my fingers warm when touching things in the freezer.
Neuropathy can be very painful at times. Please don’t fall for any of the ads promising to cure your neuropathy. There’s no cure.
I take Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) to ease my symptoms. 600mg x 2.
Hope you feel a bit better soon.
Susan

Hi, I am a PT practitioner, also suffering with IDIOPATHIC NEUROPATHY. I use FSM/ FREQUENCY SPECIFIC MICROCURRENT THERAPY for Neuropathy. It helps in keeping the symptoms at bay.
FSM has very good results for treating symptoms of RAYNAUD*S symptoms.
Find out if there is any FSM practice in your area.
Wish you the all the best.
