Do THC gummies help with nerve pain?

Are gummies containing THC effective in treating neuropathy nerve pain?

They work for my neuropathy in conjunction with gabapentin. My pain Dr told me that THC/CBD combo is the only real pain med and that Big Pharma really doesn't have a good pain med.

I have a prescription for them. I hate the brain fog that it gives me so I microdose it during the day. In a 10mg/10mg gummy I'll cut it in 1/4's and then I nibble half of that, so 1/8 every couple of hours. With 400mg gabapentin 3x/day it helps. To counteract any brain fog I take a methylene blue gummy.

I have found the roughest time of the day for me is bedtime. I have a difficult time relaxing after dealing with the heightened sensitivity and burning of my neuropathy all day long. Before I tried gummies sleep was a long time coming.

I take a THC gummy 90 min - 2 hours before bedtime. It gradually kicks in and allows me to feel a warm pleasantness that relaxes me enough to fall asleep. I’m not groggy when I wake up. The neuropathy pain does not go away, but I can set it to the side while drifting away.

I started with a half dose just over a year ago.

Try sleeping with compression socks. That helped me because the prickly numbness made it feel like i was wearing socks, so actually wearing socks helped my brain make sense of the signals.

I take 300 mg of Gabapentin, 5 mg of Melatonin about 8:00 - 8:30 and later CBD/THC gummy. I’m able to sleep well with this combination even getting up a few times.
I walk about 2 + miles in the morning and try to move a lot during the day. My neurologist NP says it’s important to keep active. I don’t take anything during the day, I want a clear head.

If you're around Virginia and want to try different options, I’ve checked out weed delivery VA before and there was a good selection of edibles to figure out what works best for me.

I'm a 77 yo disabled Vet. Are you talking about the Veteran's Administration giving you weed? I need some serious Neuropathy relief!

I tried taking THC/CBD gummies before bed to try to reduce nighttime discomfort, for I believe 6 months or so. I didn't get any noticeable benefit.

Welcome @sicvet, The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy just held a webinar a few days ago that you might find helpful. Here's a link to the page on their website:

It sounds like you have a lot of pain with your neuropathy. What treatments have you tried?

@sicvet You may be able to get a medical marijuana card with you doc's recommendation. If your state is one of the few that has legalized recreational MJ. I take a CBD/THC gummy about an hour before bedtime and enjoy a pretty peaceful night's sleep.

@aml25 I have the same routine and medication as you do. I also add a tiny piece of an OTC sleep aid made up of doxlamine succinate. I have to break down the tiny pill into something almost not visible or I sleep too long. I'm 84.
I agree with walking a lot. On the days I am taken into town to shop, I get along much better the next day with my balance.
