So sorry you are experiencing this pain..before my open surgery similar to yours, the surgeon warned me that back pain can follow this type of surgery. Many nerves are in the area and can suffer some damage there…i definitely experienced it, and got help from my osteopath…took time to resolve…I already had some back issues before surgery, so identifying the exact source of the pain is tricky…it takes time and focus on healing with PT help. Wishing you relief soon !

@nycmusic Thanks for your feedback. It is helpful to know that I am not alone in experiencing this. I had laparoscopic surgery in the summer but soon after started having backaches when I stand or sit too long. Now it’s mostly in my lower back and I have spasms and pain when changing position or getting into my car etc. I also have had back issues related to osteoporosis so it does make it more complicated. But I have suspected it was related to the surgery.
