Please let me know what you find out. I’ve had a hip replacement 11 months ago and many complications since. One of them is lack of stability and severe pain around my new stem which I wonder is it coming from my loose si ligament?

@tamsue69 will do

@tamsue69 im looking at the need for hip replacement but I’m 84 years old. So far, what I thought was a fairly easy and successful procedure is really rather a crap shoot. You may have good results and you may not. May I ask your age?

@tamsue69 Feb 22, 2022 I had my left THR. 6 weeks later I was out for a walk and my left foot slightly scuffed over a very lower dirt mound. I felt immediate pain going around the left hip. when I got home, I iced it down and took a couple of Tylenol. 2 days later still in pain, so I called the surgeon and a day later I was at the office. He said the x-rays look great. Just chill for the next couple of weeks. That is difficult for me. I was walking up to 4 miles a day (includes around the house) doing outpatient and home PT. I was knocking it out of the park until that day in April. Everyone is wondering what is happening. The pain was not going away and it took another 4 months before they did some testing for the SI Joint. I do want to say, at that time I entered the world of medicare, so I went to a whole new set of doctors, pretty much tossing out every doctor involved in my health care at that point. So after 2 diagnostics and RF Ablations, the evidence showed that I was suffering from SI Joint Dysfunction. I can't tell you how many PT visits I had to try alleviate the pain. I tried the Painteq Allograft to stabilize the SI Joints (Right/June 23 and Left/Oct 23). We were hoping this would do the trick. Nope!!! For the next 2 years I continued to work with what I had to keep the pain down. I found a SI Joint belt worked very well. But after about another year, it became ineffective. But it did help a lot, even wore it while traveling abroad. So the conversation now was what do we do. SI Bone came into my life. The left side was done Sept 2025 and the right was in March. Sad thing, a couple of weeks ago, I slipped on some wet grass and fell on the right side. I was able to catch myself probably deflecting the landing by a good 50%. Today I went to have some x-rays. The results were I may have suffered a fracture. I have a CT scan scheduled. UGH!!! I was feeling so much better until that slip!!!
