Low platelets: How high do they need to be for brain surgery?

I have a meningioma on lower right side. Possible surgery

Is your meningioma a grade 3? Most meningiomas are not cancerous. I would think they would have to get them back up before surgery. Praying for you.

@doyel, I saw that you also mentioned that you are very fatigued as well. Are you blood counts (red blood cells in particular) also low? Have you been able to talk to your surgeon regarding your question about what levels of platelets you need before surgery can be done?

Sometime meningiomas may not require surgery. Has surgery been recommended as a treatment option for you?

@colleenyoung I have an appointment the middle of June for another MRI I assume we may make some decisions after that Since I am almost 80 I am hoping I won't need surgery. But it would be nice not to be so exhausted. The only real symptom I have other than exhaustion are morning headaches but they are not so bad. My red blood cell is low normal
