@mertgraves some tonic waters contain high fructose corn syrup because of its bitterness. I am not impressed with the diet flavor either. Some manufacturers use saccharin. Have you tried magnesium for the muscle cramps at night? Many years ago I was getting leg cramps. It was very painful so I tried taking a supplement containing calcium as well. A few weeks later no more legs cramps again. I don’t know definitely if the supplement was the cause. I read that the FDA approved quinine for a malaria treatment and NOT leg cramps. You might want to give something else a try.
Fish oil! Atleast 6 grams a day! Stops arthritis in fingers! Helps the entire body!
@wilcy, I was prescribed fish oil some time ago and now can't remember for what specifically...that's what age and added maladies will do to one. Glad to learn it also helps arthritis.
I have small fiber neuropathy. After a great toe replacement last year I slowly had numbness progress over that foot and now the other. After taking supplements of vitamin Bs, alpha lipoic acid and more I was becoming numb free but during the pandemic I went on line and did some feet exercises which including something akin to stomping for three days. Now numbness returned. I am interested in exercises for neuropathy, shoes, sandals, socks and other relevant things people have found helpfu.
@rdelfin Hi. I have severe pain in my feet due to peripheral neuropathy. I have not found foot exercises to help pain, but it does help build more normal foot muscles. Be careful not over doing it with exercise. I do not have numbness at all, and in all my readings here, I have never read of one person who found anything for numbness. I do recommend Spenco shoes, which have Dr. made, custom orthotics inside. They are one of the few shoes I can wear, but everyone is so different with shoes, that I have no idea if they would help. If you go to amazon.com, they sell spenco shoes. So does qvc.com Sometimes, amazon sells them very cheaply. Also, Wolky shoes, very expensive, but well worth it. I buy them on ebay, and can get good deals there. They are an old time, really well made shoe. Hope this helps, Lori Renee

I have small fiber peripheral neuropathy with my symptoms being numbness mostly in my feet. I take supplements which also contains B vitamins, R-ALA, Omega-3 oils and a few more. I have found slip-on shoes to work the best for me and normally get ones with a wide fit from Skethers.
Have you found any type of shoe that works or doesn't work for you?
Hi, @rdelfin, My neuropathy is still relegated to just numbness and tingling in my feet and legs. I was not prescribed any medication for my p..n. but know there are others in this group with far more experience and more complications who can offer suggestions that have proved helpful for the good questions you pose. I did ask my neurologist if water therapy might help stimulate the atrophied nerves but he told me that it wouldn't.
@colleenyoung I am new at this so please bear with me I would love to get some answers to neuropathy. I'm not sure it there is a cure or if there is something that can subside some of the pins and needles/charlie horse cramps. I have had this for about 4 years and it can get real painful, the pain runs through my feet all the way up my legs and at night I wake up in the middle of the night with the most unbearable pain that I almost pass out from it. I not only have the pin and needles especially when I go to bed at night it is tuff to get to sleep. I keep getting told "drink more water, drink more tonic water with quinine" it doesn't work and every night when I go to bed I panic because I know it's going to happen again. I hope to be able to find a seminar when this Covin get over so I can get more information and hopefully some information to treatment. I'd love to get a good nights sleep since I haven't had any since this started 4 years ago. I found this group by accident and hope that maybe I can get some suggestions and read what other what others are doing to live with this.

Have you seen a neurologist and been diagnosed with neuropathy?
Same here, I’ve resorted to sleeping pills. Ambien (5mg.)every night allows me to sleep, and I use compression stockings too
