@gc4217 I wish you the best as you start on Tuesday.
I’ve been having stomach issues but I’m hopeful I have it figured out. I’ve now started taking Imodium and it helps greatly.

@115 I am glad it is working for you. It helped me too. It does not seem to work for everyone. You have to sometimes do a little trial and error to figure out what works for you.

@tomrennie I spoke to my Dr about using the Imodium and he was ok with the amount I took. Which was 1 tablet because I failed to read the directions that says to take 2. He doesn’t want me to become blocked up. So that’s good. Today after treatment I felt good I wanted to do a few things got home and a slight wave of light headedness changed my mind. I had a bite to eat then felt nauseous so I took prochlorperaz (Compazine). It cause constipation. Have you had experience with this? Thank you in advance. I also have docusate to keep things moving.

@115 I only take one Imodium at a time as well. It usually does the trick. I rarely get constipated, but an over the counter stool softener like docusate keeps things moving for me too. I still do occasionally get light headed and at times lose my balanced a little. I find a place to sit as quickly as possible. They usually pass in a few minutes. Tell your doctor about the light headedness and any associated balance issues. That is something he or she needs to know about. How is the radiation treating you?

@tomrennie the radiation up until now hasn’t really bothered me. My skin is doing ok there is a sensation but no pain. I’m just very tired afterwards.

@115 Try to get your rest the best that you can. If you think about it, your body is getting beaten up by the cancer, the chemo, and the radiation. It has earned the rest, so you can continue to soldier forward.

@rb991 It sounds difficult for her, but her off weeks recuperating seem needed. I am glad that she is taking advantage of them. Good for her. She is almost done. Keep the faith that it is working. I am doing well thanks. I have not had any major changes in about three years and have been enjoying food again during that time. Please keep us posted on her progress ok?

@tomrennie My mom's 3rd cycle was quite smooth, a lot better than the previous cycles. I am not sure if the extra rest days helped or the lower dosage (back to 2500 mg from 3k).
We'll be going for her last cycle on Monday. Pos that she's been advised to take RTCT as well.
So I wanted to know if her chemo meds will be reduced? If so, how much does that decrease?

@rb991 I am glad that the last cycle went better. Everything probably contributed to it. I don't know what RTCT is?

My bad. I've been hearing that acronymn for a while now but never validated it on the internet.
It stands for radiochemotherapy (RCT) probably.
I read that during this session, my mom needs to take some meds before the radiation to activate the cancer cells so they become more receptive for treatment.
I also read the dosage for chemo during this time quite less.
So I wanted to check with you all if anybody has any info about it.

@rb991 I have not had RCT, so I don't have any experience with it. I have stage four pancreatic cancer. Maybe you can post a discussion in the Colorectal Support Group? You might have better success getting a response from folks going through this treatment.

@tomrennie I will finish my 3rd week today. I’m having to use the anti nausea med I feel that way usually on the way home from treatment. But it could be I need food. Today I’ll bring crackers for the ride home. Thank you Tom for thinking of me. I wish you the best.
