Can someone have good enzyme numbers and still have liver issues? I
I have good enzyme numbers and the doctor tells me my liver is fine. I have many liver damage symptoms.

Phil, yes; normal enzymes indicate absence of inflammation. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6385914/
I'm curious about your symptoms.

3 ReactionsFor the last 2 years my doctors have had me under surveillance for liver cancer because my AFP (alfafetoprotein) numbers were 100 - 200 times out of range. My MRIs showed two very small tumors that haven't grown in 2 years, so my surveillance has been scaled back a bit. The entire time, my LFTs (liver function tests) were normal. If you think something is wrong with your liver, request from your GI doc an AFP test, if not already tested. All of my other labs were in range. AFP specifically measures for the possibility of liver cancer. Good luck.

2 ReactionsMy liver enzymes were first noted to be high many years ago. December 1985 to be exact. They continued to be high without a diagnosis of PSC until I relocated to Colorado and had new doctors and new insurance. Medicare and supplements. I was diagnosed with small duct PSC through a liver biopsy. I have multiple auto immune system issues, one of which was chronic irritable bowel desease. About 13 years ago I had an operation at Mayo in Phoenix to remove my colon and have an internal J Pouch created with the small intestine. Nothing like a colon, but workable. I had been on Remicade for about 5 years prior to the operation. After the operation my enzyme levels started to go down and now they are in the normal range. Does this mean that I no longer have small duct PSC? I doubt that the PSC is gone since the only real cure is a liver transplant. I no longer see a GI on a normal basis, but I do get semi-annual blood work done and it shows my enzyme levels to be normal.
