@sandymdmvb i only have 4% capacity of word recognition so not sure if an amplifier would work for me. But maybe for only $50 its worth the try. Thank you!

@sandymdmvb Whatever works for you and does the trick is great! I'm guessing that your church has installed an FM system. You're using an FM receiver with ear buds to hear what is spoken into a microphone transmitter.

FM works well as long as the sound you want to hear is being spoken into a microphone that is transmitting to the receiver you're using. Glad it's helping you.

How do you manage in social settings?

I’m on my 4h pair of hearing aids and although they’re better than the others I still don’t hear well enough.
Where do I find this amplifier?
Anxious to check it out. I’m 83 and the aids are on trial but I don’t want to pay for them if something else is available.

Almost four years now. Right side hearing simply disappeared while riding down the road. I assumed it was just stopped up or that I had some cold in my head or something normal. I have adjusted well . It is very aggravating , can’t stand most restaurant one crowd situations, can’t tell the direction of sounds . The dizziness will get better , but getting up and down quickly or standing up from being on your back , it can hit you suddenly. This doesn’t happen often. I was told a cochlear (might) help . I have also read that the cochlear would not help with nerve damage. I have numbness and sinus fullness on the right side of my face, feels almost like you have been to the dentist and had something numbed. All the extra crap is actually worse than the hearing loss. I really don’t think the doctors know what to tell you about this. They told me a virus had probably been floating around in my body for years and just landed on that nerve. I hav never had any real help. Been to two ent’s had am mri . Good luck , maybe the steroids will help you if you got them soon enough.
