Reclast after evenity timeline

Hello,
My endocrinologist is useless besides keeping me alive. He won't talk to me and when I leave messages I get the general " you need to wait 3 months for the consult". Anyway , I like to ask anyone who got reclast after evenity. How long did you wait before the infusion? I want to give my body a small break, I also have a trip outside the state. I want to wait 5 weeks to get my reclast but my endocrinologist said he wants me do it RIGHT away, same week after my shot. I really don't want to but I'd like other options.

I had my last dose of Evenity on April 10th. My endocrinologist recommended waiting one month then having Reclast sometime during the next four weeks after that.

I was on Evenity for 12 months and had no side effects… that I know of, only time will tell. I started on Prolia 1 month later. I have had my third shot of Prolia with no side effects. I just had my DEXA and it showed significant improvement. I had gained over 24% bone within my vertebrae, hip and neck. I am just hoping that it is good bone because there have been studies that say although bone is gained it is not strong. Has anyone heard anything else. At any rate, I am doing everything I can to avoid future fractures.

I'd wait. You may have side effects with Reclast and it wouldn't be best to be traveling. There isn't rebound with Evenity. Your doctor may not even notice if you reschedule the Reclast infusion.

My doctor suggested Prolia instead of Reclast. According to my doctor, Prolia is is more effective. & better.

My endocrinologist wanted me to do Reclast within a month of finishing Evenity. As with Evenity I was instructed to take 1000 mg Tylenol and 500 mg of calcium the morning of the injection, but before the injection. I had no problems with the Reclast though we are all different.

I have an Endocrinologist & he recommended Prolia over Reclast. Also, some insurance plans will not cover Prolia or Jubbonti. I have a co-pay. I would rather have an injection every 6 months than have an infusion & sit there with a needle in my arm for 45-60 minutes including prep, monitoring & IV flush!

I had my last Evenity infusion on April 30th. I had also had a change in endocrinologist doctors, so I couldn't see the new one until June. I am afraid I am not getting my Reclast as soon as I should have because ooI wanted to see this new doctor first. I also read all the things about having a dental appointment to find out if there was anything that the dentist found that needed to be taken care of before getting the first Reclast infusion. I did that because I wanted to make sure my root canal didn't need to be redone because occasionally it has felt a little pressure or something. I had to go to an endodontist to have his opinion. He said I am ok. Now I am a little scared about the possible side effects from Reclast. I felt fine with the Evenity. I have to take thyroid medicine because of Graves Disease I had back in 2010 and had my thyroid killed with radioactive iodine. I am wondering if this thyroid condition will be a contraindication to take the Reclast. Anyone had similar problems.

@judycat some insurance companies do not want to cover Proia or Jubbonti. However, if your Doctor contact them and tell them that this is the only thing that will work they will probably cover it. You will probably have to pay a co-pay, but your bones & health are worth it. Insurance companies do not want to pay anything, you have to fight for everything today.

When I started Evenity my provider projected the same sequence described by @oopsiedaisy. I finish Evenity this month with a Dexa in two weeks, then we'll see what she says.
