Take plenty of B12. Good food sources. Lambs fry, Mussels. Best supplement is METHYLCOBALAMIN. But unfortunately alcohol stops absorbtion.

The bottoms of my toes and feet, the back of my knees, and my piriformis burn quite often. For immediate relief I apply lidocaine lotion and sometimes Aspercreme, or both. Regarding physicians I also am on Lyrica and Tizanadine, which help. I have had cortisone injections in my piriformis (rear-end) and SI Joint , which helped a lot with that neurological pain. I have a pain specialist that helps with that and a foot/orthotic pain specialist that helps with my feet. She said she may do injections at some point. You really need to have your doctor help you, and a referral to a pain management specialist, at least for me, has been helpful.
Hope that helps.
