Neuropathy with or without pain?
I enjoy all these discussions. My neuropathy is 24/7 pain. It is relentless. I can’t tell from a lot of the discussions if you have pain or only tingling/numbness? This has been unfortunate journey for me as my continues to spread up into my legs, and most definitely has affected me emotionally/mentally. I am becoming exhausted for trying to resolve the chronic pain . Anyone else?

I have neuropathy in my feet and piriformis syndrome. I use a lot of lidocaine lotion and wear thin, loose-weave, stretchable diabetic socks I get from Walgreens. I also have comfortable Sketchers Cozy Fit sneakers. I take Lyrica and Tizanadine (muscle relaxer), (Topiramate for when it's really bad--but sparingly because it tends to really numb-up my feet and lower legs), a R-Alpha-lipoic Acid + Turmeric supplement. Also I take L-Carnatine, and Beet Chewy supplement for blood flow. I also take Ibuprofen, and Tylenol/Painquil sometimes. Sometimes I use Dr. Shoals shoe insert pads. It's really bad when it's cold and rainy or with the barometer lowering. Sometimes I have to put a 2nd pair of loose warm socks over my socks, or put my feet under the electric blanket. I recently got shoes with custom made orthotic inserts. The verdict's still out for me on that. I have a pain management specialist and a foot specialist to help me manage. I have gotten cortisone injections in my piriformis (rear-end) and SI joint (hip) which helped a lot with that neurological (sciatic-type) pain. My foot specialist said she may give me cortisone injections around my toes if the orthotic shoes don't reduce my toe/foot pain enough. You're not alone. It's a very challenging condition which requires much care. I have been living with this over 1 year now and still figuring things out, but managing. Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

2 ReactionsI have decided to try CBD/THC capsules along with a topical directly on foot. My concerns is my left toe is BB and concern about amputation. I watched my mom lose many toes due to diabetes and neuropathy. Trying avoid but my neurologist/pain management only want to put me on anti depressants/nerve medications. Although brings pain level to a 5/6 it makes me loopy. If I have to feel that way, going to try other medicinals. I hope you find some relief. Orthotics did not work for me.

1 ReactionWelcome @shirleyabess, Sorry to hear your neuropathy is getting worse. How long have you been dealing with the neuropathy symptoms? Have you found any treatment that provide any relief?
I have PN without pain but I do have balance problems and calf muscle tiredness as well as muscle wasting.
@suetex
I guess I’ve been fortunate that I have not experienced actual pain-other than the severe shocks that soot in your feet at times. Actually those are very infrequent now, but numb toes & feet continue to worsen over the years. Not diabetic, but A1C is higher, but I’m older-who knows these days?! My balance has been worsening some as well, and sadly I tripped & fell hard on cement & fractured my humerus-real pain!! …not to mention aggravation & inconvenience!
I mentioned recently that I started the peptide injections for healing, etc. is there another neuropathy group-thought I would get some inquiries, but too soon to have anything to report. I am hopeful!
@doblack50 Sorry about your injury. Stay in touch.
