Some NTM or MAC Symptoms
For the last month or so I have been steadily getting more tired on a daily basis. I also have been losing weight and have a loss of appetite most days. My Internist said she can tell I do not have an NTM infection, however, she did say SW Florida is an epicenter for that bacteria and she has seen plenty. I do not have a fever and yes I am switching to a new Pulmonologist who I will ask to test me. So the question. Can we have those symptoms without the bacteria infections associated with NTM or MAC. I have no fever and am reasonably active for an 88 year old male.

@picartist There are other illnesses that can cause fatigue, loss of appetite and weight loss. And NTM does not always present with a fever. It is possible to have any number of other illnesses, including Pseudomonas, a fungal infection, a lingering virus, or something more serious. What tests did she run?
I am most curious how your Internist can tell you don't have NTM without a sputum culture, bronchoscopy, or CT scan because me very expert pulmonologist is unable to do it., did you happen to ask her?
