What brought you joy today?

Posted by northoftheborder @northoftheborder, Jun 28, 2024

If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:

1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

Going on an introvert bender: second breakfast with *two* slices of PB toast and a *bigger* pot of tea.

My dear friend has been diagnosed with this cancer and I want to learn as much as I can and how I can support her.

Visited an old venue, boogied on the dance floor, familiar band 70s-80s mix, got in a helluva workout, got a white carnation.

Get to visit with the kids today from all over the world on face time 🙂

My daughter called and wants to come to visit. She has 2 children, one high on the autsitic scale. She has become a better mom than I for certain. She will be on the road for 5.5 hrs (both ways) to get here. She will be back home for dinner with her own kids, so a quick visit in spite of the distance. We have a special relationship to be sure. This is the first time she has come on Mother's Day. This brings me much joy.

My 7 year old grand daughter G. is at my house every Saturday. We spent over an hour playing an elaborate "challenge" game with points and prizes. I challenged her and my husband to try and beat each other at Simon Says--he came very close to winning but she wised up at the last minute. My last challenge was to out and do a silly dance on the sidewalk. Luckily the neighbors were not out walking!

My grandson texted me and my friend sent me a dozen roses for Mothers' Day
