Decanulation - Suggestions for sleeping with a trach cap on

My husband has been on a trach for 17 months. His trach is cuffless. He wears a cap on it all day long but has trouble sleeping with it on. His ENT said that if can sleep with it on he can possible be decanulated. What needs to be done for my husband to be able to sleep with the cap on?

@2rruiz2 That would be a good question for his doctor, but if they have no helpful suggestions, you could ask for a referral to a Respiratory Therapist.
