If I had to go through the process of discovering cancer again, I would choose both the PSE test and the MPS 2 – AS.

After reading the Urology article it did make me wonder why it was a test for somebody that has already been graded vs the PSE test, which basically says you were likely or unlikely to have cancer.

I interpreted this study as one for those diagnosed with Gleason 3+3 (GG1), and are on AS, and wondering if a repeat biopsy is necessary to determine if progression to GG2 or GG3 has occurred.

For myself on AS with low volume GG2, I’m looking for something to indicate I’ve progressed to GG3, without having another biopsy.

If this test is better than a mpMRI and can indicate progression is unlikely…then there is no need for a repeat biopsy, at the that particular time.

Bottom Line: Those of us on AS need a biomarker test that replaces the invasive biopsy…this is a good step in that direction.
