Myeloma returning After 9 years
Multiple myeloma returning after 9 years of remission IGG Lambda numbers are high 1827 M spike 1.9 Kappa lambda ratio in normal range creatine .90 LDH Went from 155 to 327. That's very scary MRI Schedule for May 8th my oncologist say she's watching the numbers real closely haven't set an appointment to talk with her. Been on velcade and Dex for those 9 years what treatment may come next. Your comment will be appreciated

This is tough news I agree, but if you have done well to now, maybe you will continue to do well with appropriate treatments. There are new ones being developed constantly now. Good luck. (I had a sister with MM in 1988-91 and now a niece with it, so I know its challenging.)

3 ReactionsWhat I know about it, being just SMM but reading vastly and following the ASH updates, is it is common to need to change up the treatment meds. It’s almost like the myeloma cells catch on and new treatment is added to calm them down. It’s amazing the new meds they are using now. Hopefully you have a MM specialist at a major cancer center. Let us know how things go, I am interested.

1 Reaction@justnate Knowing your oncologist is watching everything closely, will hopefully give you a sense of not being alone! Remission is just that. There's always the chance things will slide back in to an active state. But, dang, it is frustrating and disheartening, right?
What was your treatment plan before? What is your doctor considering this time? Deep breath, and know you got this! And, thank you for reaching out to us. You're never alone here.
