Chronic knee pain down to ankle
Hello. No question, but I'd like to share something that I think will be of interest to many. I've had terrible knee pain down through my shins to my ankles. X-rays show mild arthritis so my osteo docs just pass me on. Sent to back doc who suggested a double laminotomy even though I denied pain from my back down. Of course the surgery didn't do anything.
Long story short...I put my symptoms into AI and came up with leg discrepancy. My left leg is shorter than the right. My right knee and hip are worse than left. I placed an insert into my left shoe and almost immediately the pain lessened. I went to my podiatrist with a letter AI wrote for me and she said YES...that is very likely the cause of my chronic pain and the reason my feet are the way they are. Years of imbalance!!!! I'm waiting for an appointment for a Scannogram to measure exactly how much shorter my left side is and if it could be caused by my severe scoliosis or was the scoliosis caused by the difference. I will take the results to my podiatrist to have the correct inserts made or suggested for me. I am so thankful for AI and hopeful I have finally found the reason for my pain.

Thank you for sharing.I have had this problem for five years.
Had meniscus surgery 1982 and
no issues until contracting COVID from friends who had all COVID shots!
Since that date I have pain from
outside shin from knee to ankle.

1 ReactionForgot to mention my arthritis is mild as well! You gave me hope
Thank you for posting. Same pains in my right leg. Same diagnosis from Ortho - Arthritis - just put heat and cold on it every evening. Seeing your post, I remembered years ago, I was told my right leg was shorter than my left. I need to find out how to verify that.
@4aces4me A good chiropractor or a physical therapist can check this for you. My solution for over 35 years has been custom orthotics with a lift on the heel of the shorter leg equal to 1/2 the discrepancy.

2 Reactions@chicabow I was told I could go to Podiatrist or Osteo doc. I chose Podiatrist since so many Osteo docs blew me off. If you have one leg shorter it's a relatively easy fix!! Please let me know how it goes!
FYI: The shots just lessen the covid symptoms...as you know, you can still get Covid from someone who's been vaccinated. Same with the Flu. IMO that is why so many got covid...they let their guard down just because they had been vaccinated.

1 Reaction@4aces4me I was told to get the Scannogram to verify the degree of difference. Measuring is OK, but the scan tells so much more. Let me know what happens.

1 Reaction@chicabow I chose not too as well. I am an R.N. working as home health infusion nurse when covid hit. I got covid 3 times and did ok, but i was a healthy 67year old.
I have the same issue but on my left side. I have had a right hip replacement and left knee replacement. Now my left leg from the knee down has been bothering me a lot. My orthopedic surgeon took X-rays and said my left knee replacement looked good. Thank you for posting your experience with the same issue.
