Problems months after colon resection surgery: What Helps?

Three months after colon resection I had a severe stomach cramp this morning and have not had a bowel movement yet. This is the first time this has happened. So far things have been good.

I had a colonoscopy eight months ago to remove a 6.5cm polyps from my colon. This was followed by a second colonoscopy last month to remove five smaller polyps from my colon and rectum. Recently, I have been experiencing stomach cramps in my lower abdomen and passing very loose stools five or six times a day. Is this normal or should I go back to my GP for a referral? Thank you.

@louis2026, were you able to make an appointment with your GP to discuss your symptoms? How are you doing?

I had colon resection..laparoscopic AND open due to adhesions on Jan 4. I thought I was healing great. But now it has been 8 weeks and I have hot pains all across lower abdomen and stabbing pain where surgery was. I just had a THIRD cat scan and they say EVERYTHING looks fine...but I HURT and I BURN. I am SO frustrated!

@idkaren I am in the same place as you, pain constantly, feel like this is never going to end. Worst part is I'm having a little blood in my stools, and don't know if this is normal, or if there is still more cancer. Supposed to see oncologist today, and have several abd x-rays.

@teemetiki12, how did the appointment with the oncologist go? Did you get an explanation for the blood in your stool? How are you doing?

They have ordered more tests, and want to scope again. I am just so down about the whole thing right now.

I'm 4 weeks post op sigmoid colectomy I have pain lower left where they put surgical tools in. Wound has healed okay. Any ideas what is causing this

@stanley23 Mine is close to my naval area. They told me this is due to deep bruising. Mine is slowly getting better. I'm six weeks post op, so hang in there.

@teemetiki12, being down is understandable. Did you have the scope? What did you find out?
