Just diagnosed with a 8mm spiculated nodule In Left upper lung
I also have added area of GGO in subpleura . Was a heavy smoker for most of my life and my mother had lung cancer and her mother too . Not a great picture? Any chance it might be benign? Many thanks 😊

So after a full year the spiculated 8 mm nodule has remained stable but I now have a new one . The report said NOTHING about the size or where it is Just that that they will be repeating a CT again in 3 months. Unbelievable bad medical care here in UK

2 Reactions@thoughtprocess had that happened in the US the three month follow up would be the same. Eight mm is too small to biopsy accurately and likely would have resulted in invalid results. 95% of nodules are benign.
Sending hope that this one goes away on its own and they only have the one nodule to follow.

1 Reaction@thoughtprocess, thanks for providing this update. While the news appears to be mixed, I agree with @denzie, a three month follow up is likely what we would see in the US too. Do you have a primary care physician that may be able to look at the scan to provide any additional information about this mysterious new nodule? I would want to know more too.
