Is this normal on ADT? Body hair gone

Posted by scottbeammeup @scottbeammeup, Sep 15, 2024

I'm almost on my 6th month of ADT. This morning I noticed that almost all my body hair is gone except for the hair on my head. My underarm hair, pubic hair, and arm and leg hair are all missing. I look like a plucked chicken. Is this normal? Will this hair come back?

I also noticed that I haven't had to shave in almost three weeks.

I have been on ADT and bicaludamide for 22 months and finally BCR so will be starting on Xzanti soon. I too lost all body hair chest, underarms, legs, pubic etc, so I decided to try to grow an beard and guess what, a beautiful, full, thick silver beard after 6 months and I have to smile, what gives. I have never had a beard, but have had a mustache for 50 years and 77 now.

@gtin723 Weird, right? It seems to follow the same route of male pattern baldness.
Luckily we live in an era of the shaved head/full beard look so grow those chin locks!
If you really wanna cut loose add some small braids or ornamental beads - it worked for Captain Lou Albano!😂

I was never bushy, but still had some hair on my chest on ADT. When I went off ADT at age 79, my testosterone eventually made it back up to 600.

My radiation ended 3 years ago. I finished Eligard 2 years ago. Most all hair on arms and legs gone.
Head hair and pubis untouched. Other side effects still in full form.
Hot flashes, extreme tingling through the entire body. Anyone else
have that?

No body hair just pubis and head. Facial none in arms and legs …

Yes it’s normal as the ADT drugs are lowering your male hormones.

A good side effect for me was: no need to use deodorant under the arms anymore. No BO. I m happy with that.

I'm two months into ADT (Orgovyx, Abiraterone / prednisone). I have no visible changes yet, but I recently snaked the shower drain and the hair clot was all mine. I don't mind, since I've always resembled a bit my lost evolutionary uncles, and it might be nice to see my skin again.

@ecurb , yep, no deodorant anymore is required, but I still use it as it is a habit. Much of the pubs gone. Stil have my beard but lost most of my chest hair.
Here's one, if I don't shower for a couple of days, when I rub my eyelids and smell my fingers, I get a foul chemical odor. Never had that happen before. I'm wondering if my whole body has that smell, but I don't notice it. Maybe it's the Abie that smells like that.

Never noticed my eyelids as I use eyelid scrub wipes in the am. I do have Elvis sideburns, but grey. lol my chest hair is gone too. Been off ADT for two years too. No meds. Testosterone is 91.
