Do you exercise daily while in multiple myeloma treatment?

What are your experiences in going to the gym while doing quad therapy for multiple myeloma?

I find playing pickle ball a great way to get some fun exercise. I don’t feel comfortable going to the gym . At this point in in time. I’m at day 90 after my stem cell transplant. just started my maintenance 10 mg of Revlimid. My lambada light chain # was @ 4700 before the transplant. It’s down to 2.96 . Know the goal is to keep it there.

Hi @tod56
I just stuck my nose into the conversation to welcome you to Mayo Connect and congratulate you on your ASCT (autologous stem cell transplant) for what I’m guessing was Multiple Myeloma. Sounds like recovery is coming along nicely if you’re able to be out playing pickle ball.

How long were you being treated for MM before you required the transplant?

Thx! I just finished first quad treatment on Thursday 4/23 and am just now feeling more steady. Likely the steroids? How soon were you able to get going?

@okiebon Sorry to be so late in responding. I don't check mayo connect daily. During quad treatment, iI had dexamethasone 2 days per week and did not sleep at all on the mornings I took dex. It took about 2-3 days to get back to a regular sleep pattern, and about the 3rd day after taking it was a "crash " where I had low energy. Post SCT, my infusion and injection and dexamethasone is 1 day per month. Still up all night the day I take it but better after day 2. Hope you are doing well.
