@colleenyoung cancer has metastasized. Unclear what to do next. My severe debilitating reaction to keytruda after the first infusion sort of eliminates (I think) that class of drug, although Nivo is being considered with Cabo. I’ll know more soon. My oncologist conferred with my rheumatologist and I’m waiting for the path forward.
It’s like sitting on pins and needles.
@mah7925, I'm sorry to hear that the cancer has spread and that the next step is unclear due to Keytruda causing severe reactions. I hope you get answers soon. Keep us posted.
Aftery husband's nephrectomy, he started Keytruda infusions. Has had 3. Last PET scan showed to new cancers. However, yesterday, the urologist found a tumor in his bladder... an earlier concern. Now to remove that and start some sort of weekly treatment for 6 weeks. Wish I could remember what that is. Will know as soon as his chart is updated. Bummed but hopeful still. Good thing is he has responded well to Keytruda with no bad effects rather than a little more tired afterwards.

I'm three weeks into Cabometxy and have had no side effects yet. I feel blessed. I also get 1 monthly injection at my doctor office - can't tell you what that companion medicatiom is but I'll check and let you know.

My reaction to Nivolumab is much better than my reaction to keytruda. Much less pain/stiffness. The improvement may be that I’ve been on 5 mg prednisone and 400 mg hydroxychloroquine for weeks before. Don’t know but I’ll take it!
69 yrs old I had my left kidney removed 2 weeks ago they believe they got all the cancer with negative margins. However since it had spread into the renal vein, renal sinus and fat it is Stage: pT3a. I have an appointment this Friday with oncology to discuss immunotherapy. just looking for information.

My son had the same staging and did Keytruda for a year. So far so good for him. You do what is best for you with each and every decision you make as your own best advocate!
