@pamelaaci
Hello Pam & hb,
I am-a HNC survivor-thrivor 3 years out.
May I ask if your hb needs tx?
I had 33 agressive rounds of rad for a tongue tumour.
Where did they surgically remove tumour?
Sending you both gentleness while he recovers.
Take good care.
@zenren
Thank you @zenren, the surgery was a T1 tumor on his small palate. They removed a 2cm section along with all lymph nodes. So far no need for radiation or chemo. He is eating very well but still has issues with liquids and wants to do speech therapy. Best wishes to you as well!
@pamelaaci
Glad he will be supported by a SLP. Exercises & Rinses are imperative throughout the survivorship. I had half of my right bottom tongue ressected and full neck dissection of lymph nodes removed. HNC is rated top 3 painful diseases. We can stick together like mud here in this caring community. Hang in there.
@zenren14 Yes, we were left without much information after the surgery and trying to be proactive…This site has excellent first hand information which is going to help with our new swallow/speech therapist visit today. Thank you and stay well!
