Anyone have testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) after ADT?
I had SBRT radiation treatment and stopped Orgovyx after 12 months.
After 2 1/2 months my T went up to 65 from a low of 8.
My oncologist says he is open to undergo TRT, but my RO says I should wait 12 months to consider TRT.
Fatigue is my main issue.

Yes I was. That’s how I caught it early. Quarterly PSA testing.
Comparatively, I felt great on TRT. My testosterone level has dropped to 18 since stopping. Below 50 is castration level, the goal of ADT.
Anyone here were Gleason 9 and high Decipher are on TRT after Radiation and ADT ? Did you improve energy levels? Any side effects from TRT. Also please state your age if you don't mind!
@ava11 72 here. After a good workout I feel better for hours. Prior to working out I feel like a slug. We are all different I guess.
I started TRT at 57 years old three months before being diagnosed with PC Gleason (3+4=7) favorable intermediate. TRT Changed my life. The biggest benefit was mental health, anxiety went away, I felt calmer and could think clearer. I was able to put on muscle and weigh is easier to manage. When diagnosed with PC I thought for sure I would be taken off TRT but to my surprise, in all my 5 consultations, all Dr’s agreed I could stay on it. That’s Mayo, UCLA, CA Proton, my urologist and local Oncologist. It helped me tremendously. Of course everyone is different and each our journeys have different twists and turns. It is something to look into though…

Has anyone selected Testosterone Replacement Therapy after ADT? If so, what were your results or recommendations?
Depending on your case, many doctors will not recommend this since it can get the cancer growing again.
Once somebody has become castrate resistant, however, it can be used in large doses to kill off the cells that have become resistant.
There’s also a technique called BAT (bipolar Androgen therapy). It can be used in cases where people become castrate resistant and the drugs, no longer work for them. Getting on testosterone for a while can reverse that and they can get back on the drugs. It doesn’t work for everyone. Some people will have their PSA start to rise very quickly.
This newsletter has some real good information about BAT and a few other issues with treatment of prostate cancer.

5 ReactionsHas it been 2 years since the end of ADT? It can take testosterone a while to return especially with Lupron/Eligard. This decreases the probability of the prostate cancer coming back (testosterone below castrate levels is ADT without drugs). TRT will suppress natural testosterone production and recovery. Probably not an issue if there is none.
It has been 13 months since I stopped Orgovyx. My PSA is 0.03 and Total Testosterone is 52. I exercise regularly and lift weights 3 times a week in a semiprivate setting with no more than 5 other people. I don't have stable energy. sometimes I feel strong other times I need a break walking on a flat surface.
My oncologist is open for TRT. I think I will wait one more year before I consider TRT.

I am in the same position after 12 months since my last 3-month Lupron shot. Increasing my testosterone level seems like the only way to get rid of the side effects. A lack of testosterone is what causes side effects since the ADT wore off many months ago.
