Peripheral Nerve Stimulator

Has anyone had a Peripheral Nerve Stimulator implanted and if so did it help with your pain?

The Sprint PNS system isn't implanted. It's used for about 2 months and removed. An electrode only is inserted. The rest remains external. I think the intent is to train your brain to ignore pain. Hey that all rhymes.

A spinal cord stimulator is intended to be implanted if the trial period is a success.

Thank you for the information. I currently have a spinal cord stimulator implanted and when they did the trial they had to connect the leads that were in my spinal column outside to the external stimulator. Now the stimulator is inside my body as well as the leads. So how does the electrode get signals from the control box if it is not connected by wires? I read that they usually leave it in for three months. I am hoping to not have to have this procedure and that the Intercostal Nerve blocks the pain doctor did this past Monday will kick in and my pain will go away. If not, he said that the PNS is the next option. Again thank you for replying and Blessings

They would have to connect the stimulator to the electrode internally leaving only a terminal to recharge the battery. Once it's implanted it's forever unless there is a reason to need to remove it OR the battery needs to be replaced.
