COVID Post-Vaccine Syndrome -- Looking for a doctor who treats this

Posted by meshmash @meshmash, 3 days ago

I have COVID Post-Vaccine Syndrome and am very grateful that this is finally being talked about.
But I have no idea how to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about this condition and is taking new patients.
Any suggestions?
Or if there are any clinical trials available to apply to - to be included in.

How do I know I have Post-Vaccine Syndrome? I started getting the symptoms after getting the vaccine and I have never had Covid (tested for it many times). And now that doctors and others are talking about this syndrome, my symptoms match up.

@meshmash I too thought I had LC from vaccine and chased solution for about 3 years until I discovered I had Mold Illness triggered by the vaccine. There are many crossover symptoms. What are your symptoms?

Search on Google scholar and you will find several articles. Six years ago I received my first COVID vaccine and 20 minutes after I had
symptoms. IT CAUSED my immune system to get out of control and that caused CIDP. Most providers still do not agree that the vaccine caused problems but with research and education they are more open to that idea….i preach this all the time, do research and be your own advocate!

There isn't a set protocol within traditional Western medicine to treat post-vaccine symptoms.

You have to be so careful because there are so many fake treatments out there and people who prey on those who are desperate for relief.

I had an unusual reaction to the vaccine and I reported it to VAERS. It may also have caused me to acquire left bundle branch block. But there's no way to prove it and I can't go backwards in time, so I had to let it go.

I would adjust the mindset that you approach your providers with. They can't help you if you are trying to match symptoms up against conditions. I know because I tried this when I was really sick and desperate.

There is no shame in becoming chronically ill after the vaccine OR after getting COVID.

The government has an agreement with the vaccine manufacturers that those manufacturers will never be liable for any damage done by the vaccine, even if there ever is proof. There's no money available to fund research or motivation to do so currently that I know of.

The way I look at it is the manufacturers did the best they could under the urgent circumstances. The vaccine was tested on all of us. There was not another way IMO.

I know several people who had cardiac events as a result of the vaccine.

What I would do is get as much help as possible based on your symptoms. If you are having heart issues, get a referral to cardiology. If you are having neurological symptoms, get a referral to neurology, etc.

If I had it to do over again, in order to be taken seriously, I would not have focused on asking for help with long COVID, but I would have framed it that my symptoms started after having COVID.

The reason I say that is doctors can't really do anything for someone who has already convinced themselves what is wrong. It annoys them and makes them even more fatigued. It just adds another level of burnout that health care providers are suffering from. On top of that, if we approach it from that standpoint, we may not be taken seriously because a lot of doctors are not educated on illnesses that occur after someone has had the virus, and that can delay our treatment.

I say this as someone who has been struggling since January 2023, and did not get any help until I went to Mayo.

You may be able to have your symptoms addressed locally. The only emphasis I would place on the vaccine is to say that "my symptoms started after the COVID vaccine."

I don't mean this is a put-down at all. I painted myself into a corner by convincing myself I had adrenal insufficiency because my symptoms matched that. I lost months of potential relief by doing so, and my mental and physical health suffered because of it.

The only thing I want to add is that there are MDs who have an interest in treating people who haven't been able to get help locally. The ones I know of do not take insurance because they offer treatments that insurance doesn't cover.

I'm not a huge believer in "functional medicine" due to personal experience and my lack of trust in chiropractors in general, or nurse practitioners practicing medicine without oversight by an MD or DO. It was a waste of time and money on supplements.

@meshmash

Did you ever have covid? Because if you did; I think they are calling these issues acquired from covid as LONG COVID.

I finally had to break down and google.... comprehensive list of medical issues acquired via covid and you would not believe the list; there have been many, many, studies on illness people had before and after covid; using their physician records, blood work, etc.

I have never had Covid (been tested several times), which is the main reason I know I have Post-Vaccine Syndrome. And the symptoms started soon after receiving the vaccine.

I have had Covid 3 times. I have taken all vaccines offered. My last virus was June 2023. Went on vacation (motorhome) July 23. Do not remember leaving home (SW FL). Arrived in Alabama totally unresponsive. Husband got me to the nearest hospital where I spent 5 day in ICU with total system failure. I had no idea where I was. Could not stand. They were testing everything to try to diagnose me. I was 15 minutes away from getting dialysis but thankfully the Lab results came back improved. I had pneumonia (?related to Covid) so the best DX they came up with was pneumonia=respiratory failure = cardiac failure=MI, A-Fib, runs of V-Tach, Tachycardia etc, Liver Failure, Renal Failure, lack of oxygen to my brain = confusion, brain fog, and low GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale). I lost nearly all of muscle tone.
Now I fall all the time, continue with brain fog, incontinent at night, almost daily headaches, ringing in my ears, FATIGUE, on home oxygen cannot walk very far without EXTREME shortness of breath. I now have nodules in my lungs Pulmonologist orders CT every 6 months to “watch” them. Horrible depression R/T my health. Pulmonologist “poo-poos” LT Covid. Not sure where to go from here.
The ER doc told my husband I would have been dead in another hour. Oh, yes, I deal with so much joint pain and tendon issues. I use a walker as I fall literally all the time. I have balance and dizziness issues now.

I’m going to give this clinic a try and I will update when I can 🙏🙏
