Spotting one year post hysterectomy

Anyone else have spotting a year after total hysterectomy? It’s light, but still concerning

Just my opinion, not intended as medical advice: A patient with unexplained bleeding, but no history of cancer, gets an ultrasound. With a history of cancer, imaging is even more imperative. I would push for the PET scan.

@denfrelin Did the doctor give the cause of the bleeding? In order for them to say, "everything looks great," they should be able to tell you the source of the blood and why it's bleeding. If they can't, I'd push further. Faint blood (so light is was pink) is how my cancer was found. It was so light that I saw a slight discoloration on tissue only when I wiped. It could have been easy to overlook, but I'm so glad I noticed it and pushed forward to get to the truth of it.

100% agreed. I don't know your history of GYN cancers, @denfrelin, but have come to understand that post-hysterectomy spotting/smearing/bleeding are possible signs of cancer or cancer recurrence, so I would very much want my GYN or GYN ONC to determine the source(s) and cause(s) of if as soon as possible, and address them if they are NOT due to cancer, since ongoing spotting/smearing/bleeding might mask the earliest signs of cancer or recurrence. I never want to increase anyone's anxiety unnecessarily, but given the risks if cancer or a recurrence are undetected in earliest stages, this a signal that I would join the crowd in encouraging you to pursue a bit further. I would ask my inner healthcare "warrior goddess" to help me to stand up, speak out and not accept no for an answer until I have the kind of information that @inquirer is suggesting you seek. Sending my hope that your current sense of reassurance is totally justified, @denfrelin!
