Spotting one year post hysterectomy

Anyone else have spotting a year after total hysterectomy? It’s light, but still concerning

I agree with Bettydee, get into your gynecologist ASAP or your regular practitioner to be evaluated. Bleeding after a hysterectomy is not something to be taken lightly. Be a warrior for your health!

Doctor said everything looked great. Just keep an eye out for further spotting. Thank you for asking❤️

@denfrelin: So glad you checked this out and were reassured. I'm a firm believer in "When in doubt, check it out".

@denfrelin Did the doctor give the cause of the bleeding? In order for them to say, "everything looks great," they should be able to tell you the source of the blood and why it's bleeding. If they can't, I'd push further. Faint blood (so light is was pink) is how my cancer was found. It was so light that I saw a slight discoloration on tissue only when I wiped. It could have been easy to overlook, but I'm so glad I noticed it and pushed forward to get to the truth of it.

@inquirer
Doc did not see any cause for spotting. Vaginal wall was smooth (I did have tearing and abrasions due to difficult removal of huge uterus), and cuff had healed completely. I also had very very light spotting which took me to gyn in the first place last year and found the cancer. I always wear a panty liner and check it like a hawk! This time it was very light also and they said will do a PET scan if it happens again. Thanks for the advice❤️

Please get a 2nd opinion. This is how my cancer was detected.
If everything was fine, there shouldn’t have been any spotting.

I am a DES Daughter and had a hysterectomy in my 30s. I was surprised to learn that I still needed annual GYN exams, especially looking at the vaginal wall because I am still at risk for cancer.

A second opinion is a good idea
