Positive UroLift results - How long will it last?
I'm 71 and I had the UroLift procedure done 3 years ago and so far, everything is still great. I'm only getting up once a night to pee and when I do pee, it's like I'm a teenager again! (no more waiting for it to start and then stopping and going several times)
My question is, how long will it last?
I have had over 3 years of no BPH symptoms and I don't want this to end!
Any other UroLift patients out there?

I'm very glad you are happy with your UroLift after 3 years, so was I. But you may be prepared for your symptoms to return after another 3-5 years, mine did. I then tried meds with little help and when I had a large blader stone I got a HoLEP procedure from Dr. Slade in Boise. That totally solved my problems and was WAY less pain and problems than my UroLift. Now I often sleep through the night and at age 74 that that is like 20y ears earlier.

I am having the uro-lift procedure done in a couple of weeks. I am 69 years old. I was told by my urologist that Uro-Lift typically lasts 5 to 10 years. Some research on my own indicates a lower end of 3 to 7 years, but 5 to 10 years is more typical. Obviously, no one wants to have a repeat procedure done in a few years, but I'm hoping to have a long healthy life so if I have to get another procedure done in five years, so be it.
I've heard nothing but great things about this procedure and one of the most important things to me is that it has no negative impact on erectile function or ejaculation. I'm too young to gift that up!
Are you having it done in the office or in the hospital?
I had mine done in the Dr. office with local anesthesia. Never again! That was the worst pain that I have ever experienced. If I have to have mine re done in the future, I will have it done in the hospital so they can knock me out. Even though it was very painful at the time I had it done, it was the best thing that I ever did to help with my BPH.
No regrets!
