Favorite saying

My wife and I were having a discussion and we came to a mutually satisfying agreement. I was reminded of this saying: “A good understanding is like the ‘whistle’ and the whistle always blows on time.” ( the “whistle” in reference here is the old fashioned factory whistle: the whistle starts the work day, blows for lunch, and blows again to end the work day, and the whistle is always on time)

..gosh another one from my childhood: sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.... (as my Mum used to say to me many years ago when another child said mean things)

One of my favourite sayings is 'One day at a time and five minutes at a time, when necessary.' I don't know who the author is, but I have found it's wisdom helpful over the years when I am feeling discouraged.
