soggybones, maybe an endocrinologist. High LDL particle numbers are often caused by insulin resistance or low thyroid function, and even metabolic syndrome. High HDL particle numbers are cardio protective.

@gently The weird thing is that I don't have diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypothyroidism nor any evidence of metabolic syndrome. I'm very active and fit and always have been. Admittedly, I don't always eat the best foods, but I've always been a healthy weight. So strange....I'm going to order the same test at Labcorp and see if it shows the same result. If it does I'll certainly discuss it with my GP and perhaps get a referral to a specialist. This result really freaked me out! Thank you for the reply! When I showed this to my husband he just said "meh, the lab must have screwed up". Meanwhile, I'm thinking: "I need to update my will and get my affairs in order!"
