Followup for Noninvasive High-Grade: Anyone chosen no more treatment?
After 2 TURBTs, faced with ongoing treatment with BCG, at age 76. Has anyone opted not to have that treatment? If so, what did you do? OR, if you had BCG and are in my age range, what were the side effects?

I really can't understand the fuss about a catheter. If the correct size is used and lidocaine is administered before insertion, it should be a non-event. Just my opinion from experience of about a dozen insertions. I suggest your nurse or doctor is inexperienced with the procedure.

1 ReactionThird TURBT completed. Had BCG after the second one. Mayo wants to do the six BCG treatment again which I start in two weeks. No issues during the first BCG round. It’s 90 seconds of minor discomfort with the catheter each time. Worth it if you consider the worst out come. I’m 73. The nurses at Mayo are most capable at inserting the catheter and squeezing the formula into the catheter and removing the catheter.
