Aneurysm coiling

Posted by Shekoni @nshekoni, Jul 2, 2017

I am 3 weeks into cerebral aneurysm rupture with coiling but I am extremely fatigue with headache 3-4 times a day and my body feels warm with loss of appetite and insomnia at night. Can tell me what I need to do to get better faster. I am in rehab 3 times a week and I don't have no deficit speech or motor deficit.
Thanks

@nshekoni, have you spoken to your doctor about your symptoms?

Hello @nshekoni
I would like to add my welcome to that of Kanaz. I am sorry to hear of illness and continued symptoms. As Kanaz suggested, I would give a call to your doctor's office and let them know of your symptoms. While it could be very normal, your doctor is the best judge of that.

Some surgeries take a little longer to recover from. Has your doctor given you a timetable as to when you might begin to feel better?

Hi @nshekoni
When I read the case it makes me feel that it is encouraging to ask you about more details. I feel very sorry about the symptoms that you feel and tell, and I am sure that as some members on the page advice you to call your doctor is excellent point at this time.
Wish you feeling better !

My husband experienced a cerebral rupture and was saved with a coiling procedure as well. When he left the hospital (14days) he went on to experience the same symptoms your describing. HEADACHES daily, insomnia, tiredness. Check with your doctor of course but he would take tylenol with coffee for headaches. I remember him drinking allot of coffee. The tiredness is part of the condition. You may experience this, this ,ay actually be your new normal. Its a adnustment. We have found ourselves in depressive states at times. Be informed, inform your support people, then lean on them. You will need to. The headaches vary, my husband still gets them and its been 4.5 years. The first 6months to a year they are consistent and its taxing.

Hi all,
Please note that I have moved this discussion to the Cerevascular Diseases group (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/cerebrovascular-diseases/), where discussions about aneurysms and strokes are taking place.

@abissol41 Thanks for joining this discussion. I did not know about the effects of caffeine and night-time headaches until I read this message about hypnic headaches in the Sleep Health group last night http://mayocl.in/2tyn6SH Does he still use caffeine to help?
I can totally understand that you say "we" when referring to finding yourselves in depressive states. The health of one person so often affects the people closest to them too. How do you help yourselves with the emotional toll?
