Best way to track steps on daily walk
I walk every day except the week I have chemo, usually a half hour. I am guessing I walk a mile? I have been doing my walks for 4 years since my cancer diagnosis. They are now part of my day.
I would like to count my steps but would like to know how other people do this. Is a pedometer, watch, phone or other device the most accurate? Thanks!

@jlo5544 Here is an answer from the internet. Strapping your phone to your ankle is a solution and accurate way of counting steps, though other measurements (such as heart rate) may not be as accurate). Here is an article to discuss how the ankle placement alters the watch's readings: https://www.simplymac.com/apple-watch/so-many-people-are-wearing-their-apple-watch-on-their-ankle-for-step-tracking-that-it-has-become-a-trend

Thank you so much for this!!
I will definitely check this out!
@taterjoy Hey thanks! I was just wondering if that would be an option or maybe a fit bit or watch but why not the phone?
🙂Thanks again
@jlo5544 you're welcome! I've not tried it but might need to as I age! Cheers!

I switched from Fitbit to ringconn fitness ring when my Fitbit stopped charging. No issues with water or anything else and like the Fitbit, there is no app fees.

The iWatch works quite well on land, with a walker and in a pool. I know this from personal experience. And you don’t have to be a subscriber.

Thank you for this! Do you know which version?
@jlo5544
No, I’m sorry I don’t. I got it about 2 years ago
Don’t let the Apple Store talk you into a monthly subscription. You get all the bells and whistles without that.
@calofmichigan
Thank you for the great tips!! This sounds hopeful!!
@sharnie
I also have a Fitbit watch
