@contentandwell it is a "real bike". Lol There is a very nice county park not far from our house, so I loaded it up and went out there to ride. I'd been wanting to see if I could load it myself so it was a good test run. I'm hoping to go to other nearby places and ride on the bike paths.I have a friend that rides quite often so I need to strengthen up to keep up with her!

@jodeej I would really like to ride outside but it's pretty hilly around here. I think I would have to bring the bike somewhere flatter to do it, plus I do not currently own a bike. I gave mine to my daughter when she was in college and have no idea what became of it. If I figure out a good place to ride I might rent a bike for a day and see how that goes before buying one.

@contentandwell we live in the very hilly Loess Hill area, so I struggle to find "flat land" to bike on! Lol The park I went to head a couple hills that I ended up walking part way up, but I surprised myself by making it up a couple. I want to take it when u go visit my sister and go riding there. 🙂
Blessings,
JoDee
@jodeej, @contentandwell, I am impressed that you are both discussing bicycling! I used to ride somewhat after college with my cousin, but I am not real comfortable with the balancing aspect. Never fully confident so I got rid of it before children.
How are you doing these hot days? Have you been able to find any opportunities to take a refreshing bike ride, or a stroll in a comfortable setting? or in the gym?
@rosemarya Not much heat up here yet, finally getting warmer and may hit 91° this weekend! I only get hot when I am trying to sleep for some reason.
My bike riding is all indoors, so not a real bike, but I think I could ride a real bike if the area was more level around here. I used to love bike-riding, always rode my bike to work when I was single and lived outside of Boston and worked in the city.
Gotta go to the gym today, I am trying hard to get myself to alternate it with the pool, which I much prefer. The pool classes are a good workout but also very social. It's such a great group of women.

@jodeej I am sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Those times are difficult.
If your bike is fun and relaxing, I assume it's a real bike. I dread getting on my recumbent bike but once I get going I can generally keep it up for about a half hour or more, and usually almost "6 miles". I try to do the bike almost every night. My ortho said to do it five consecutive days a week followed by two days of recovery. I don't always follow those instructions though anymore.
