Staying Motivated for the Long Haul
My biggest obstacle to maintaining a healthy weight is a seemingly invisible "switch" that goes on and off in my brain. When it's "on" I am in the zone and can avoid the most decadent temptations and will exercise faithfully. But, about a year to 15 months into my healthy lifestyle, the switch turns to "off" and I lose focus and revert to my bad habits of poor food choices (both in what I eat and how much I eat) and I become more sedentary. I am at that point now and I feel a slow panic building as the number on the scale inches upward. I know what I should do, but I am at a loss as to how to get my mojo back. Suggestions, anyone!?

@hopeful33250 @rosemarya @jodeej I had been using a Misfit tracker and had frequent problems with it but their C/S kept me loyal since they were so good. At this point it is discouraging though because it has been having more and more problems. I didn't wear it for a few months after my knee replacement and now they (I actually have multiples, different models) just are a nuisance so I am thinking about trying a Fitbit. I went with Misfit because they were one of the few you could wear in the water but now Fitbit has waterproof ones also.
The two pound loss really is encouraging. As they say, "success breeds success". I found that to be very true.

@contentandwell I used to have a fitness tracker, but have quit using them. I may get myself another one in the future since it did motivate me to move. Having the grandson at our house this weekend has kept me busy, but I haven't been watching what I eat or out for a walk. I'll be back at it, tomorrow! Lol
@rosemarya @hopeful33250 I can't wait to get the cookbook and give it a try! I'll let you know what I think. 🙂
I got my cookbook in the mail today! So. Excited. 😀

@hopeful33250 @rosemarya @contentandwell I am happy to report that I am down another 1.5 pounds this week! I am really surprised since I was over on calories most days and didn't get all my exercise in like I should.
I plan to dig into the cookbook this week. I didn't have a real good chance to look at it with a 2 year old running around my house this past weekend. Lol I do want to tell you about a fantastic website called Prevention Pantry. ( http://www.preventionpantey.com )She is a dietician and she has some great and eat recipes. She is also on Instagram if any of you are in there. I love it!
Have a blessed week!

Hello @jodeej
Glad to hear that you are still approaching life with great enthusiasm! I checked out the website, https://www.preventionpantry.com/, and saw some interesting recipes - especially the Spicy, Lemon Roasted Broccoli. I'm not a fan of broccoli (yes, I do know that it is good for you), I might give that one a try.
