Who has tried the Gokhale method and can it help with DDD ?

Posted by annie1 @annie1, Apr 28, 2025

I remember reading here that some people tried Gokhale lessons and it helped, however I have a disc that is completely gone at this point. Did anyone who worked with this technique have such a severe problem as mine and did it help ?

I have severe L4/5 spinal stenosis and have had excellent results following the Gokhale method.

Did you do Gokhale in person or through videos? I spoke with a Gokhale person in my area and am considering it. Does it have to do with posture improvement or exercise? I’ve seen the pillow thing that gets attached to a chair. Any elaboration you can offer about Gokhale I’d really appreciate!

I have seen this spoken of in the Osteoporosis group here on Mayo Connect. Has anyone in the spine group experienced this and, if so, what is your feedback. I have spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis and I am almost 78. Thanks

I did a daylong group training class. The method looks to improve posture with respect to how we stand, sit, sleep, move. It’s not focused on exercise as such, but how we move when doing so.
