Diagnosed with necrotizing myositis 4 months ago and going from being bedfast to walking with a walker my doctor is stopping the methotrexate and prednisone while continuing IVIG, I’m worried my severe weakness will return. Is this too soon to stop these meds?

Diagnosed with necrotizing myositis 10 months, took a few months to diagnose. Became bedfast with frequent falls prior to dx. High dose steroids, methotrexate and IVIG helped. Stopped methotrexate, weaning steroids off and now on IVIG monthly. Can walk with a cane and a walker, but still have muscle fatigue. PT has been very helpful. I’m almost 78 years old.
Has your doctor been monitoring your CK, normal results can indicate you’re stable
