Constant dizziness/imbalance

Posted by Chester @chester, Jul 21, 2011

I'm a 47 year old male, and I've been experiencing a non-spinning dizziness/imbalance feeling for over ten months now. It all started after having a sinus and ear infection. I've had and MRI of the head, balance testing, blood tests for any deficiencies, heart tests, all of which are negative. I am suppose to see a neurologist next. Anyone else having similar problems?

Treatment is very vague. I was diagnosed after two years by an ENT who then referred me to vestibular therapy. It didn't help much, but the steady coach on YouTube has offered the most helpful guidance. Try it! The options ate few and meds are not an option for me.

Yes, I also do. It’s late now and this caught my eye so I will touch base soon. FYI, I am F, 75 and it’s been happening for >1 year sporadically.

Yes. 2 1/2 years now and no answers. Also have spinning episodes.

I can relate. Does this happen while you are sitting? When you are walking? Take a look at PPPD. Seeing a neuro at this point is a good idea. The first neuro I had prescribed Rx and after seeing me a couple of times, put me on maintenance with a nurse. My current neuro continues to see me and look for answers as well as Rx to better suit my needs. In other words, not all neuros have the same approach.

PS, mine is not a crystal problem. That was ruled out immediately.
