Wild-type ATTR Amyloidosis (ATTRwt): What meds help you?

Posted by markwithwildattr @markwithwildattr, Mar 14, 2025

Just diagnosed with wild type ATTR at 67. I have been prescribed Attruby . My only symptom is tingling in my fingers so I’m hoping it was caught early . My understanding is this drug stops the creation of the misfolded proteins created in the liver . Is there a drug that dissolves the protein already in and around the heart as seen on my echocardiogram?

@sheriff50 The PYP is actually imaging, not a test. It takes a big chunk of your day, but necessary. No pain or discomfort. Just time-consuming.

The test really isn't that long .... open array scanner..probably less then an hour. Had mine week before last....information derived shows where your amaloyd deposits are so the effected systems can be addressed and not overlooked.

They inject you with a tracer and wait a few minutes for the tracer to infiltrate your tissues , then scan. Don't hesitate to get this test it is essential to identification and targeted treatment.. Best Wishes
