Propranolol to add to Ativan
I recently was prescribed Propranolol to add to Ativan, I am feeling Inter dose withdrawal and I'm worried about not being able to start on another Benzodiazepine, I know that Vallium is the best choice but I used it years ago and the effects wore off rapidly until I ended up on a high dose. Thankfully the internet is useful and I learned that there's a reasonable cause for this, I know that Klonopin can also be used but the doctor offered me Propranolol to ease the withdrawal effects, my concern is that it's not highly recommended for people with asthma, there's better beta blockers like atterol but the doctor doesn't take kindly to suggestions? I'm not sure how to manoeuvre this issue without offending him and doctors are scarce across the border?..

I was so happy to find another family doctor because where I live there are over 2 million people without a health care provider and many of them are seniors. My previous doctor retired last January and he was unable to get another doctor to take over his patients, the medical care I have now is in a busy clinic and I often have to deal with another doctor who doesn’t know me and my health background, I know that the new doctor is not what I wanted and he doesn’t refer to my health records. I am very proactive about my health and some doctors appreciate this often saying that I make their job easier but others don’t like it and they get very angry and defensive about it, I was given a good suggestion from someone here that said I should tell the doctor you get viable information from a support group that is backed by the Mayo Clinic, some doctors take suggestions from a patient when it is supported by professional people, I will definitely give it a try and see how it goes, thank you for your support.
